Festival

Yesterday we had our festival, meaning we had a look at all of our movies. I think everyone did a great job, comparing to what we can do after one semester of video production. The photos of the BAAM 1 was nice too.......altogether we had fun.

Edit and finish

Editing was done in the school using Nero. we spent whole saturday there, then monday as well. It was ok, but we had a little problem, when we finally exported the movie, the whole sound was misplaced with a few seconds........however it was ok in the editing part. Then we fixed it by exportoing again, then we were done. Altogether I enjoyed it, but I think all of us were stressed by all the things we had to do in school in general.

Making the movie

We had a few problems while we were making our movie. First of all, we were running late because we could not get hold of Itamar, our main actor for more than a week. Then we had to do things fast, as we didnt have lots of time left. He was great, we could work with him easily. Afterwards we needed the lightening stuff from school.......when we had that everything was fine.
However it was a rather stressful time for us.

afterward we had to start working on our new next movie.........we wrote the script. Im in a group with Adel, Oksana and Meerim. The idea of the movie is a little philosophical, with not many lines, hopefully it will be ok. It took us a lot of time to think about everything, and plan the whole, therefore we had meetings regularly. Then we wrote the script, and each of us made a storyboard of a part of the movie in order to be organized and well-prepared.

More help for shooting

Today we talked about lightening, how we can do it from different angels, etc in order to achieve better shots.....or the way we want it. We practiced it in reality, there were a couple of them up in the studio, that was very interesting.However, I do not know how all the crews will use only 4 of them.....we have to figure out something. This weekend, we write the scripts, thats the most important next step.

More about the techniques

Last week we watched all our 4 min movies, which was really fun. We enjoyed the "masterpieces".We were also talking about how to make an interview, and got some very useful tips for our next, bigger movie. I am actually a fraid of this, cause we have so much to do for other classes as well, and this wont be easy, even if there is more people in the group.Well, we will see.

Shooting and editing

the last two weeks were basically about making our movie. We started shooting a couple of weeks ago, we were aware of the time, so we started early. Thanks to the fact that we had a good soryboard, shooting was easier than I thought.We were organized, sticked to the plan so it was ok and we has fun. Than we started editing, what we did in two parts. The software is easy to use, we put in all the shots at first, it was altogether more than 9 minutes, than started cutting off.Before I was worried about the whole, but once you are actually doing it, it does not seem to be so scary......and it is fun.Though we could not do the whole without some help, I must admit. Thanks for that.Now we can start the second movie.....

Storyboard handed in

Today I handed in our storyboard. It was made as a ppt presentation, printed out. Our teacher, Dr. Lewis helped us while we went over it together. We got some new tips and advices how to make our movie, thanks for that. This weekend we will do the shooting, so we can start editing next week. We must stick to this plan, otherwise we won't make it in time.

Making the storyboard

Today we watched a part of a movie to learn more about shooting. Than we had time to make our storyboard.I am working with Franziska, we already made photos of the scenes etc, today we just put them in a poweerpoint, and added notes. These also contained the location, costume, type of shot, etc. We are going to hand it in next week, than comes the shooting!I am a little afraid of that, but I am sure we will survive.

Learning how to edit

Last week we got to know more about shooting. We also had a chance to go outside and shoot different things, the main idea was to practice how to move the camera with and without the tripod. It was fun, especiall cause afterwards we learnt how to edit the movie, how to put it together and cut even seconds off. I thought it would be harder, but it is very easy. There are different special effects in the őprogram too, I found it useful.

Shooting for the first time

We had our video production class again, now we really got into shooting. At first we got some very useful information about different techiques, then we were off to shoot the ready-made script. I was in a group with Kata, Franziska and Adél. I was afraid of the whole to be honest, but it turned out to be fun and interseting. We just really had to focus on the actual things. Of course, we made a couple of mistakes ( and more), but I think it is ok since it was really our first time. We went through some difficulties, such as dark place, positioning, matching the scenes. We did a bit of too much zooming......we had to avoid that in the future. Altogether it was fun and I cant wait the next class.

First class

Our first Video Production classes took place last tuesday. I was looking forward to it,
did not really have any idea about our tasks or anything. I was really happy to hear that
the school is providing us cameras and each one of us must make 2 short videos. But to be honest I am a little afraid about this, It seems to be a pretty big job. At first getting a good idea seems to be the hardest......than shooting and putting together. We got all the necessery information, which is very good. I already started brainstorming, hopefully I will be able to make something good.
